For all the new families in our daycare, this is a fun and noisy evening guaranteed to tucker out your little ones. Held from 5:30 – 8:00pm (TBD) in the school gym, the Holiday Happening event allows parents to meet and mingle while bidding on great silent auction items and trying their luck at the raffle table. All proceeds go to our fabulous daycare to help us pay for fresh toys, field trips and special visitors to our program.
The stars of the Holiday Happening raffle are the amazing gift baskets created with donations from our families. Each daycare room has been assigned a theme. Parents are asked to donate an item that suits the theme assigned to their child’s room. Most families spend about $10 per item – but whatever you can contribute will be much appreciated. Themes this year are as follows:
- Room 103: Master chef & baker
- Room 104: Arts and Crafts
- Room 105: Lego Lovers
- Room 109: Movie night
- Room 114: Game night
- Room 213: Winter fun
We would appreciate your donation by Friday, November 22, to give our volunteers time to get the baskets packed and ready for the raffle.
Other activities planned for this year include baking contests. Judges will taste for the best in chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin pies. We are also planning a gingerbread house decoration contest and rumour has it that a bouncy castle will be there too!
You can come to this event straight from daycare – no need to go home first, as supper is included with the price of your ticket. Tickets will go on sale in the downstairs daycare hallway in the week preceding the event. More details to follow.
